No, it doesn't include shipping. And yes, $60 is about what the materials cost, though that doesn't count getting the eyes, which I have custom made for me as I don't own an embroidery machine. I make my living doing this though, so I rather prefer to get paid for the time I spend sewing as well.
I understand, sorry if I offended you, college has me stresed, but yes I try to do the same like I make hoodies and they cost me around 40 USD to make and I charge around 60 for them, I hardly make a profit but I enjoy making others happy more than getting a profit... Wish i could just buy in bulk to keep costs down. Ya know?
I'm not offended. Just this isn't my hobby, I can't afford to not make a profit, this is how I pay the rent, plain and simple. It would be nice if I could make these at cost and make people happy, but if I did that I'd end up out on the street and starving, so it's just not an option.
yes its kinda happening to me and these costs and prices are driving my custmer's away... any tips ? like could you help me , i know I am technically competition but I donot make stuffed animals often I make fursuits and accessories. Also costumes. COstumes i can offer at a low price due to arrangements and sales, but things liek hoodies and stuffed animals take a thicker more expensive fabric.. just wondered if I could have a few of your thoughts, I'd like to be as sucessful as you.
If you act like a professional, and advertise enough for people to know you exist, you'll find plenty of folks who will pay a reasonable price. I can't say what a reasonable price is though, you don't have any examples of your work here. Which isn't exactly helping you advertise.
I am not affiliated with FA, nor will I ever be again, I advertize on DeviantArt and I do get a few customers, but I don't have paypal setup due to some issues with the bank.... for sme reason they won't let me open a bank account unless i have a job, lol freelancer aparently doesn't count haahaa
heh actually not true, maybe for fursuit but I mostly do midevil costumes these day and DA is a HUGE client list with over 50k in members, FA has people dropping off this website for alot of good reasons which i would rather not get into, But i'll get back to you when I have the money for th pinkiepie, alomost have it right now, but need to save up for Rocket City
