Christmas gift for
Tanekwoofer.
Pattern is © Iggi, and all of the cutting was done by me.
Cut on white maple with a walnut background, 2 blades and about 8 hours (plus additional time for the back assembly). This was a very fun piece to conceptualize, because the end goal was to have the moon (clock) freely floating above Tanek. Obviously, a standing project was out of the question, so I consulted with my grandfather, the awesome guy who taught me how to do all this, and we agreed that a frame would probably be best. The back is held on by a set of hinges at the bottom, and the clock acts as a latch to hold the back to the front when it is snapped into place. A background can then be inserted or painted on, if desired. While this did have a few small joints, it was ultimately a very solid piece, and was very enjoyable to work with.
