Simple always works, though! Sometimes massive amounts of detail isn't necessary, I've found that out with surprising results ^^;

Sometimes I add so much detail, but then erase some and find out that it looks just as good (and not so clutered)

Though you are definately right, sometimes it's very hard to decide and the balance can be difficult.

I just wish I had such a wonderfully unique style as you. I'd still be impressed if you drew less detail, cause now I know you'd know how to pull it off!
