Mbala LOVES jackalopes!
Just a very quick sketch to tease my husband. I'm kind of a packrat and one of the things I have that drives him most crazy is a little furry jackalope I bought in the SW years ago. He wants me to throw it away, but it just keeps ending up various places in the house.

Oh, how could he want to get rid of a jackalope? well, okay, aside from the fact that its a taxidermy rabbit with antlers glued on its head and for some reason, mainstream society doesn't like dead things in their houses.
I've yet to understand mainstream society, so I support the jackalope!!
I'm still not sure if my roommate will take kindly the the fox skull currently being hidden in my dresser drawer....

My young cousin to my aunt's dismay snuggled with my resident full fox pelt, which was on my bed. X3 Hurray for dead things in the house. (well preserved and from a native place, no less, but...)

Lol! I haven't done that one yet, I need to. That and sitting in the front seat of the car... Hehee.
Our house is full of pelts, skulls/bones, etc. But for some reason the jackalope just bugs the heck out of him and it just keeps coming up. I suppose I'll have to 'donate' it to someone someday.

Most of it I've purchased - I have a wholesale account with a major furrier and a rawhide/leather/skull shop since I use the materials so frequently fo my work. I used to get a lot of things off Ebay before that though. And second-hand shops - a ton of people pawn off fur coats they dont want anymore and you can sometimes get an entire coat for $10-20. :)
Oh wow. 0_0 that's awesome. It's mainly the bones/skulls I've been lacking/wanting these days. I've got a bunch of bunny pelts and fox faces on the bookshelves behind my altar, though, but they're whole pelts. >.< I've been wanting to work with painting skulls/bones lately. What's said furrier and shop's names? *curious*
