Work Sketch - Mari Portrait Color
...I wanted to test Mari's colors so I went ahead and colored the work sketch that I did days ago. I think she's coming along. ^_^ These might be her final colors. ...I hope ^^;

Mmm the color differences are subtle, but I like this one better. The colors are a bit less cartoony and more balanced. The skin is somewhat darker ans less orange and her hair is not so fiery vibrant anymore, giving it a more realistic look, which I think just works better for her. Good job!
Also, I thought for a second that the center of the flower on the dress was open, (with some sort of locket at the top keeping the two bra parts together) allowing a tiny peak of cleavage. ^_^; In Dutch we would say: "The wish was the father of the thought."

Oh wow! Thanks for taking the time to do a look back *super hugs* Yeah, that last picture I was sorting her colors on my laptop and I forgot that I couldn't get an accurate gauge. She was WAY too orange! I may use that hue for another character, but with her, something about it didn't set right. As for her hair, I originally wanted it to resemble a berry and that previous color was a little too bright. I'm glad you like the revisions!

That is SO CUTE!! I'm going to have to have SOMEBODY use that phrase! ...dunno who, yet, but that is too awesome to not bring to the US! *ahem* As for that, that would be cute for a design. I think I used it on someone's bathing suit. One of the Sweet Shoppe girls (Sweetheart, I think). I was working on bathing suit ideas for the girls...ah, but now I'm getting off topic ^^;
