AGH I thought I lost a bunch of work on this!! but it turns out I didn't yaay :3c
Anyway here's my character who now has a name! Sahtwei. She's a girl who has a fortunate/unfortunate run-in with a demon of sorts as a child. They end up 'bonded' in a loose sense, and have a really complicated give/take sort of relationship, haha
Hope you enjoy!

This turned out really awesome! And I was definitely way off before, I'm loving the figure in the background of the piece. And the attention to detail and your shading is just wonderful, I would love to see/hear more about these two. The story intrigues me, a lot. I instantly thought of the anime Chrono Crusade but I doubt their connection is the same. XD
Oh Chrono Crusade!! Man I loved that anime haha! I wasn't even thinking about it when I made 'em up... that's so funny though it's definitely sorta like that XD
Well I'll blab about them if you want to hear! I'll try to keep it short haha... but there's a lot of world build-up to it too x_x

I don't think I ever got all the way through the manga... wish I had picked it up!
All right so a bit of worldbuilding - magic is a very limited thing in the world they live in and is heavily based on the rules of karma. Sorcerers/Witches/etc basically call upon beings called "Feits" that will help them complete whatever task the summoner is asking for - but will have to ask a price of some sort, whether it comes from the summoner or a third party, whatever. Basically every sorcerer has a contract with a "Feit" that they can call upon and they negotiate deals. But at the time of Sahtwei's story it's a nearly-dead art, due to... uhh well a lot of reasons actually.
Sahtwei as a little girl (like five/six) lives in a poorer country that's frequently raided and at war with its neighbor. She finds a shiny stone that looks really valuable to her so she grabs it and hides it away. Not long after she starts seeing a strange red man with horns that only she can talk to. He explains that he's stuck in the stone and can't use his full powers unless a strong summoner can break it. She's only a little girl though so they're both kind of stuck not knowing what to do with the other.
Her village gets burnt down and raided soon after, and she escapes with the stone (so he can run away with her) but loses sight of her family and eventually is caught as a prisoner of war. He tells her he can take her to her mother and escape if they create a contract and he can take some of her energy, and agrees to help him escape his prison in the stone. She agrees on the terms that he never harms her or does anything scary. He agrees and finds a way to sneak her away from the camps and get her to her mother.
She then lives a pretty normal life except for being able to see a demon. But eventually rumors spread about her being a witch and talking to spirits, and she takes the opportunity to go off and learn sorcery in hopes of freeing the demon, and thus freeing her of him. But of course things don't really always go that way lol. That's pretty much what we have of them so far haha. Thanks for letting me talk your ear off :>

Not a problem at all! This is a really good plot so far too, sounds like it would definitely be a great comic! Wish I had my stuff that developed. x__X; Is it to the point that when he feeds off of her energy it's shortening her life kind of like in CC or is it a little less dangerous for her? I'm sure she'd rather not be bound to him for the rest of her life regardless seeing as it's already causing some problems but the added bonus of her life being shortened would be pretty awful too. D:
By the way, the manga is much better than the anime, although the anime had a great story as well... They're very different, unfortunately it's not a main stream anime or I'd say look for it online but I'd have no idea where they might have it. I have most of the comics but... You're probably not anywhere near me. Very worth the read though if you can find them, you actually have me kind of wanting to reread it now that I'm talking about it. xD

Aww thanks so much! All Capri and I do in our spare time is world-build so hearing that it sounds cool to other people makes it really worth it haha <3
Actually she's not harmed by the energy thing - just gets sleepy/passes out. He's not able to take a lot anyway because he's so restricted. Actually in the end she's given the ability to have her life extended if he's released; most sorcerers/witches live long long lives due to the contracts they make with the Feits... they're usually not released from a deal until they fulfill something for the Feit as well so you just kind of keep on living until you do 6_9 haha
Aw man the anime made me cry like a baby... can't imagine what the manga is like then. I have a used bookstore that gets tons of manga in though, I'll keep an eye out for it next time I'm there!

Ah, okay, that's interesting! I'd definitely love to see more of these characters like I said before! :D And don't worry... The manga is sad but it's not as sad, it has it's moments but it actually makes a little more sense than the anime did too. It's odd because the beginnings are VERY similar and then towards the middle the anime took a really heavy religious turn and they kind of went off of that to write the ending. The comic still has those same religious themes but that wasn't the author's main focus... More of an inspiration.
Derp, wasn't as hard to find as I thought it would be. I don't know if they're going to have some of the pages in here but if they have the few colored pages in this like they do in the actual book they're absolutely gorgeous too.
