This is a simple photo manipulation using 3 of my own Photos.
Mainly enhancing the sky and grass, and some color work on the church it self..
This old little church is only a mile from where i live, one of many scattered around the country side out here. Most of them hidden in the trees only accessible from the back/dirt roads., most of which to over grown to drive down unless you on a four-wheeler.
Almost all have a small cemetery, and most all are Ukrainian based.
This one is about a mile east of my house.
Saskatchewan, Parkland area.

Yeah.. It kinda to bad they all go abandoned.. And most are just falling apart... I would say there one of these ever 4 to 6 miles... There also some old little school houses still around too... There is one school house overlooking the little birch island lakes by be... And a few miles north east on the other side of the lake back in the trees is another one... Probably seemed a lot different back in the day..
Interesting..... in america,some old churches are preserved by becoming historical land marks. Some are still in service since the early 1900's! Schools are not so lucky. Well... I haven't seen older ones. Just the one in Dallas' old city park http://www.google.com/search?client=ms-rim&hl=en&q=dallas+old+city+park&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&channel=browser this may work.
Well there are still lots that get preserved here too... but most the little country side ones in my area dont.. there are alot of them, and most are either on private own land now, or you need to go on someone else land to get to it.. yeah schools dont last..
far as i know this little church was used up until about 15 years ago.. but i guessing it pretty old.. due to some of the years on the gave stones in the little cemetery.. i remember taking a photo of one of the head stones and it says 1877 on it... some are really weathered and you can read them either, but then i couldnt read it anyways cause it in old Ukrainian language.. and looks like confusing stuff to me.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ukrainian_alphabet
this church could be a 100 years old... maybe less.. maybe more... hard to say really......
