Ah, it feels good to finally animate something again after months of not doing so :) I mean jeez, I'm an animator, I should be animating something...
This is a pre-emptive call for Advanced Critique :)
This is something that's been floating around my head for the last few days. I finally decided to actually animate it for a few reasons.
Firstly to refamiliarise myself with the Flash interface.
Secondly, going on from the first point, because trying to animate something for a project without knowing how to use things can drive you INSANE.
Thirdly because I really wanted to see it animated, and of course, and actually animate something.
This was fun to work on. It's about time I did something that shows Nohman a bit more and the things he's prone to doing... such as licking the screen simply because he felt like it. I like the expression in this one, and I think I successfully avoided having the heads shrink or grow randomly (something my friends have dubbed 'Kaemanitis' since it's the first time I noticed it in my work).
This was all sketched in with the pencil tool. I may or may not finish at some point in the future, though I would really like to. This was done mostly for the practice. If you ask if I'll finish it I'll simply point you to the description again, kthx =p
Oh yes, this is quite obviously inspired by GlassWind's old avatar of her character licking the screen. You can see that over on deviantART.

Media: Macromedia Flash MX
Technical:
294 frames total @ 24fps.
12.2 seconds in length.
Frame by frame animation. The only instance of 'tweening' was the fade in/fade out with my name and website.
Throughout the entire animation, there was only one instance of ones/singles being used, that being the last frame of Kaeman's ears perking up.
Nohman's saliva has a purple-ish tint to it. The transparency was done by me using a fill with 80 Alpha. Look carefully and you'll see the saliva continues to drip.
BTW, the real file name is screenlick, though that's rather apparent by now.
Once again, Advanced Critique Encouraged. I'd rather hear about what works and watch needs improving than be showered with praise.
Though the praise is fine too :D

Nice animation
As for an Advanced Critique...
Nohman is nicely animated as is Kaeman
The only thing that I see at the moment is after Nohman licks the screen and is about to leave they both seem to friezes and for a moment.
You could add an eye twitch to Kaeman which could fix this. Also at the end Kaeman looks to freeze again just before it fades to black. A simple head shake could fix this.
Over all this is a nicely done animation.

Ah, I didn't pick up on the freeze after licking the screen, but now that it's pointed out it's very obvious to me. I'll have Kaeman do something there to break it up a little.
As for the end I got a little lazy I'll admit. I'd likely make his ears bounce a little to keep it animated, otherwise the hold is more or less intentional there. It's just that it seems to stop completely.
Thanks very much for the critique!
