This was done for Aluessinth of LJ for this month's conbadge exchange.
The character is a shadow dragon, and this was my first REAL go trying a dragon, and my first using markers. I borrowed my boyfriend's while I was visiting him, and tried out the brush nib for his copics. It was.. difficult. Markers are kinda intimidating, unpredictable, and hard to control, and it was rather difficult to shade with them, but maybe it would be easier if I'd had a bigger selection to work with.
The metallic pens weren't easy to use, either!
Regardless, I don't think it's too terrible for my first try with markers, so I figured I'd submit the scan (I accidentally left the badge itself at Westly's, oops!).

This is pretty undeniably awesome, honestly. I love how you included the name as something tangible, rather than letters just sort of floating there, you know? They interact with the character depicted, and that's something not seen too often at all.
I also gotta say, those ink lines look WICKED. The width of those lines varies a great deal, looking more interesting.
Was this done entirely with Copics, then? Especially considering it was your first try, this looks amazing.

Yep, I was over my boyfriend's house and he has a bunch of copics, the ones with the brush nibs, and I gave a try with those. He didn't have many colours for me to shade with though or I would've done a bit more, but I did the best I could for it being my first go with just a few to choose from.
