Take it from a veteran LoZ player. XP Hero Mode takes SKILL. If you're good with the shield and sword, you hopefully won't have anymore trouble than you had in regular mode. Just stock up more on potions than you used to.
Oh! Also, don't go selling your treasures and bugs near the ending of Normal Mode; they carry on into Hero Mode.

It all depends on how well you are with the controls and stuff and knowing how to defeat him. Always keep a clear head and steady arm. It's always a beetch when you go to hit him in his open spot, but you're too excited to do it, so the sword hits from the opposite direction and you in turn get slammed back with his sword. x.x And in Hero mode, it takes away DOUBLE than it been in regular mode.
And of course I died cause I was really tired while fighting him and was screwing up a lot. x.x Those Heath Guildline and Warnings actually mean something in the game cases! XD
