Go Back - Windsonde Twistoult Challnge 2
One of Queen Tulkiina's braided-leather tail-bands has broken. She is very concerned that without four of them on her tail, she is out of balance with the god Balodius. Go to Grandesque, find a Samhradh to craft a new braided-leather band for you, and present it to the Queen.
Augi whistled in anxious indecision, rocking from one foot to the other as he looked into the forest - what will he do? His previous foray close to the forest the previous few days ago was a positive memory, but... his cowardice got the best of him. He had to go to different measures to avoid having to go in the woods but still give a braid to the great shaman Queen Tulkiina. While he had never heard of her, he had been given directions to her cave, and her appearance. But, once he made the braid, how does he get it to her? Oh, goodness...
Augi ran through the close trees with his eyes practically closed, nearly hyperventilating, when he saw a large cave filled with baubles and hanging herbs. Hoping it was the home of the raven/melanistic snow leopard, he stumbled forward on to the large, slab-like rocks. A voice croaked from the dark within: "A visitor"?
What seemed to be a shadow appeared out of the blackness; a slightly larger, raggy raven stared at Augi with her one good eye. "Oh - you have a braid for me? Praise you, child - Balodius will be sated once more... wait a moment..." Her head flicked to one side, spying the braid that Augi had brought with him hanging from his bill, and her feathers bristled along her neck. "You have been misguided - the braid you bring must be that of leather." She pointed straight out beyond with a gnarled claw. "Go, child - you shame the gods with your cowardice!"
Augi, crestfallen, lowered his head, flattened his ears, and backed away, forgetting that he had dropped the braid he had made out of seaweed at the queen's feet as he turned away.
As the great black-backed gull/cat gryphon nearly had a conniption fit navigating back to his beach, Tulkiina pivoted her head to view the seaweed braid that was left drying in the late day sun, and smiled a raven-y smile. "Thank you - this shall come into good use for me."
Augi, being the coward he is, was too scared to find someone to craft him a leather braid, he made one himself!
