One of my characters from Puzzlebox MUCK, Reader was effectively a paper golem. Obsessed with preserving information he'd created himself a body of "paper" and a nanite solution to keep it sentient, connected and mobile.
Each printed character was made up of smaller characters, which in turn were made of smaller characters still, far, far further down than physically possible. The inside of his body was effectively black with information while the outside was printed for aesthetics (and pure white when in danger, to prevent information loss).
I always enjoyed playing him, as he came across as a fatherly sage in person, when his motives were actually far less savory. Fatherly works well to meet people, get them to trust you and share their stories with you. Once that's done though, well, a traumatic experience or demise make for a far more interesting end to a book than And They Lived Boringly Ever After.
Unfortunately he was made toward the end of my run on PBX, so the latter portion of his personality never got to feature.
