I've admired Skysealer's artwork for quite a while now, especially the vibrant and striking colours of her speedpaints like this. So when she opened a few commission slots toward the end of last year, I pounced eagerly on the opportunity. I consider this a graduation gift to myself, celebrating the end of my Ph.D. program and my move to the UK to be with loved ones, and capturing the sense of triumph and achievement these things embody to me on a very deep level.
The background draws inspiration from some photos I provided Skysealer of Glacier National Park, Montana USA, where I did my doctoral field work.
I am absolutely delighted with how it turned out. I find it breathtaking and beautiful, as with so much of Skysealer's work, and I highly recommend commissioning her if you get the chance. ^..^
