WELCOME TO GATEWAY PRIME (Gateway SOL-6).
THE GATEWAYS
The Gateways were given to the Terran System by an advanced alien civilization
that we now know simply as the Visitors. The Visitors generously supplied us with one universal gate (Gateway Prime SOL6) as well as two smaller, in-system gates to traverse the Asteroid and Kuiper belt. These two smaller gates are (Gateway SOL4.5) and (Gateway SOL10).
All the visitors have asked in return is that Terrans maintain and help defend the gateways.
GATEWAY DEFENSE
Each Gate has it’s own weapons array and security configurations. Gateway Prime is only 180 years old. Currently there is one gun turret located at the base of the command center.
The guns are very powerful however there is a risk of overloading the turret’s generators if the guns are not given some time to cool down. between firing.
UPGRADES
The Visitors support Terran expansion and value our safety, however they will only upgrade a gate’s weapons system under the most extreme circumstances, such as a prolonged attack from hostile extra terrestrials or even hostile Terrans at other gateways. Gateway Prime has allowed the inhabitants of the Terran System to expand far beyond Earth and the Martian Colonies. The most distant gates are located in far flung and strange galaxies.
SYSTEM NEWS
The Gateway orbiting Saturn has been under constant threat of attack for months. Last year Thylan forces began a siege against the gate located outside of The Orion Nebula (M42) and it seems they have finally overrun the command center. The Thylan are determined to overrun Gateway prime and from there begin a campaign against Earth and Mars.
ENEMIES
THE THYLAN
The Thylan are the distant descendants of ancient Thylacine that where abducted from Earth over 3 Million years ago. Many generations of selective breeding and cybernetic augmentation have molded the Thylan into a massive nomadic force of brutal, heavily armed raiders.
THYLAN SHIPS
Thylan ships have armored and shielded hulls; however, there are weak spots near each of the side mounted weapons arrays. Thylan forces continue to threaten all universal gateways. The Thylan seek control over the universal transit system as a means to establish new territories for piracy, smuggling, and slave trade.
