thumbs up bun, 3dcoat is the shit.

At AC 09, I guess a month or two after I got into 3D, an accomplished and FA-popular artist recommended that I check out 3d-coat for sculpting. It was probably his way of gently and subtly saying that my 3d character work was ugly because it completely lacked anatomic detail. (Which it was.) I promptly ignored his sage advice and went on being an asshat poking around with Blender. Fast forward two years of being somewhat held back by the technical restraints of topological sculpting in Blender, and I hear the same advice to check out this voxel sculpting program, from Zaush, who's done a retopo livestream and uses some 3D assets in his work. I installed 3dcoat at the beginning of January and spent the month learning to use the tool and breaking my brain out of two years of only using Blender, definitely not spending a whole lot of time per day compared to what I usually do.

This guy will eventually get my full treatment, but for some messed-up reason, I got the urge to start another sculpt instead. Whatev, I'm going to need two characters with good anatomy anyway >:)
