I wanted to donate blood but I'm anemic. :(

You still could. I mean, I'm bi, and I've technically slept with a guy, but they don't need to know that. It's an old rule that was made when it was still believed that HIV/AIDS could only be contracted through same sex encounters. I got my blood tested last month, and since there wasn't anything out of the ordinary on it, I should be perfectly fine to donate (and before you point out that it takes at least 6 months to tell for sure, my last encounter was in the summer, so enough time has passed).
I know it's sorta going off the honor system, but I feel like I've taken complete responsibility to make sure I was clean, before I go to donate again.

It's the principal of the thing, I'm not giving blood till the law is changed.

Apologies for butting in, either way. As you can probably guess, it's something that I've been thinking of for a while ever since I started exploring my interest in guys.

Through all this, I am hoping to participate in any organization which will actively work to convince the FDA to update their guidelines. In the meantime, though, I'll continue to take as much responsibility as needed, if I ever plan to donate again.

Really?! I had to drink 9 bottles of juice to keep from fainting. I do double blood cell donations, which take longer and feel weirder than normal!

wow... sounds hard for me... I only donated 250cc this time, this is my second time of blood donation, last time was in my senior high.
