I always keep a digital camera on me, especially for macro shots. In my quest for surface awareness, I noted a grape in my fruit salad. It hit me that I have never once rendered a wet surface with specular lighting.
And so it goes.

Yeah. Well we're between dating and engaged. Most of West Africa is weird about this—the cultural norm is to completely hide your relationship until you're engaged. When you're engaged it is as binding as marriage, as Ghanians do not celebrate marriage separately.
Oh, didn't know that! My dad's side of the family is West African -- Sierra Leon to be exact -- but we do celebrate marriage. I don't know many Ghanians personally though. :(
Didn't know you lived in Africa; it's beautiful, isn't it? I was born here so I've only ever seen pictures.

I live in Ohio, actually. My girlfriendancée lives in Cincinnati. West Africa only referred to her heritage. We'll probably be visiting Ghana next January, but we have no plans to live in Africa, only visit for several weeks. :)
So Sierra Leoneans celebrate an engagement AND a marriage? Did not know that! Ghana must be weird. :P

When painting, always, always, always use the biggest brushes you can at the start. Then bring in edge sharpness (be it with smaller brushes or otherwise) to establish a nice visual hierarchy. I didn't even notice edge sharpness existed until my sophomore year of college.
Thank you for the compliment.
Post-impressionism? Wouldn't have guessed! Unless you mean something besides "pointilism". (From what I remember from art history, "Post-impressionism" is a bit of a misnomer, as it happened during Impressionism, and it was impressionism all the same.)
