This is very nicely colored and the detail is wonderful, but the character itself looks waay too much like a Brother Bear rip for me to see this as a completely original work of art.
Try using real stock photos of bears to develop your own style instead, you may be much happier with the end result. Using a coloring book for reference often results in a gleaning of the original artists style, whether intentional or not and ultimately ruins the art.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to start a fight, just giving some honest critique! Overall its a great picture.

Thanks muchas!!! It's original in the fact that I drew it all by myself, but I see what you mean about the Brother Bear thing. It is my style though as I only looked at BB coloring book for how the paws were made and how the lips folded out and stuff, but I guess my style matches Brother Bear. It's a cartoon bear.. so there's going to be similarities I guess. X3 Still, thanks for the comment!!
Yeah the paws and lips were actually the parts that stuck out to me as the Brother Bear style! But I completely understand using that style for reference, sometimes its hard to decide how to stylize an animal to keep it realistic but toony in the wonderful world of furries!
Yeah, I had to look for paws and stuff on google images. There are like... 2 references pictures of grizzly bear paw pads on the entire internet. X3 Only thing I'm starting to get *really* ticked about when people mention the "BB" reference to me, (FurBid even took down one of my auctions because I used this as an example..but they can shove a ....) is that there's SO many artists who use TLK for everything, and they will produce prints in their TLK style (and sell on FurBid, no doubt) and no one ever says anything to them about it. Yet I upload one picture that resembles the style of a Disney movie because I wanted him to be toonish and not realistic and I *loved* the style that Brother Bear used, plus I added in my own style there, and I don't hear the end of it (I also heard it elsewhere other than here on FA). So, it's really not fair, and also the fact that I spent 40+ hours on this piece putting in so much detail. Beh, that's the fandom I guess for you. X3
Ugh I know what you mean! I HATE all the TLK rip-off art. I don't appreciate it when people don't take the time to develop their own style and instead steal an existing one. Like how all wolves look like Balto and all lions get drawn like Simba. It drives me crazy! Sure go ahead and use those things to learn from, but people should branch out and get their own style instead of clinging to a popular one.
I also totally see how your art is original and that it is not a total rip. The coloring style isn't even anything like brother bear, nor is a scene like this in the movie (I don't even think theres a pose like this? I could be wrong...) But yeah, your hard work is obvious it just has a similar style and irked me at first because I was already in a huff about copycat Disney styles from an unrelated incident earlier today (mostly flipping out about TLK rips, actually XD).

Would it be all right if I used this for an assinment I am supposed to do for my computer class? It's a calander assingnment and this is the perfect picture for June. I do not care that the picture has your logo on it. I promise I will only use it for that assinment. Nothing more. I useually would not ask but the due date is getting near and it is difficult to find good-looking anthro bear pictures.
