Okay, much like the picture "Dude" http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6551590/, my ability to "see" perspective is telling me "FUCK YOU". I don't know what's wrong with my brain when it comes to trying to comprehend it but 90% of the time I cannot do perspective, I just.. can't do it. I know the mechanics, vanishing points, horizon lines, perspective lines, multiple vanishing points. All of this I KNOW. But I can't DO it. Not yet anyway. I think my lack of understanding WHY I can't do it is the real frustrating aspect of it.
Well okay I hate practicing too. I don't actively practice.. Usually when I see something I want to try, I tend to just go for it and luck wins out more often than not.
I hate these moments. It's where I really have to step down off my pedestal of AWESOME and ask for help. =-p
Shit anatomy aside, if you are so inclined and want to help me out and if you can see how the counter top should go in front of Josephine there, feel free to redline it. (note the little upper left sketch, showing the counter top as an "L" shape) Not a whole lot of explanation is required because like I said, I know the mechanics. It's my failure to implement it that infuriates me, and then the subsequent repeated failure to get it right only fuels the frustration more and then I ragequit. =-p
Mini-rant over.

Sorry for late reply and surprisingly, Furx's redline works very well!

Sometimes when I have a problem with things like this, I try to find a spot where it looks similar or build it out of boxes or something and sit in the point of view that I want it to be and try to eyeball it from there, haha. Then make it how I want it to look, like into counters not... boxes. That's because I am also disliking the frustration of practicing blind and that is my step above barely trying but my steps below actually learning how to do it.
Here's two, one I eyeballed and one I did using 3D:

Oh man....I remember doing this when I took Architecture. Perspective is NOT easy.
Furx's Redlines work well, #2 in particular. If you wanted to see the end of the counter, just move his "camera angle" over a bit and you can add in the end of the countertop.
Also Jo has kitties!??!?! 4 life <3

What Furx did there is correct, however, your problem here is how Jo fits into the perspective - since you pretty hinged the horizon on her waist, which means that a roughly waist-high countertop would mostly align with the horizon, so you would actually perceive the top to be very compressed.
Given the camera is supposed to be angled slightely higher than your average same-size-as-Jo-onlooker, Jo technically would need to be adjusted perspectively to make it "correct" in the case how Furx put it. If you wanna stick with the "flat on" view of Jo, technically it needs to shift up.
