Fun detail: If you look way in the back, you can see Nikita spraying the igloo. :D

Aww that's so nice! This sure is a life changing experience^^ Cheetahs are amazing animals and I also got to cuddle one. They sure do purr loud!
Well, huge bugs, cold showers, no internet and nearly getting eaten all the time is a part of Africa. I lived there for 19 years and I miss it very much

It really was wonderful!
While I was trying to figure out if I should go, someone told me that sometimes, all it takes are a few seconds of insane courage to change your life. Definitely seemed to be true for me and was definitely worth it. Hope you find what your passion is. ^^

Glad to hear you made it back safe and sound dude, and even happier to hear that you found it to be even more amazing, fulfilling, and worthwhile than you could have ever hoped! I relate about 110% to your brief account of your experiences in Africa... even the part about the frogs! You certainly look happy :-P And I love the expression that cheetah has on his face.. "*sigh* alright, another picture. Hurry this shit up"
Too bad our paths just barely missed eachothers, but we'll have to catch up proper one of these days. For now, enjoy your creature comforts... I'm going to go prepare to be without them for the next 6 months!
Oh, and btw, lions are still -infinitely- superior

And still infinitely more delusional, I see. ^^
It is too bad we missed each other just by a bit, but I'm really glad I got to e-mail a few times to you while I was there! It was great getting to talk to you, relate experiences, and find out about the awesome stuff you're going to be doing soon. That must be so exciting. I wish you the best of luck as you head out there! May you meet more interesting people than insects!

It's a lot of work to both arrange and do, but it's most definitely worth it. ^^ At least for me, it was one of those life experiences I'll remember forever and one that I learned so much from.
If you're really interested in doing it, there's a few places you can actually volunteer such as the Dell Cheetah Center ( http://www.dccafrica.co.za/ ) or the Cheetah Conservation Fund ( http://www.cheetah.org/ ). I'd be happy to help if you need any specific information!

Wow that definitely sound like a real experience and something i would think you will not forget or regret doing despite having to put down everything and go for it. I feel envious. You put an active part, so respect! Hope you didn't swash that poor frog in your shoes! lol and catch back on your bills now
It really was great, though the job hunting now isn't so much. ^^ Still, more than worth it.
The frog, strangely, didn't seem injured. In fact, when I took off my shoe and looked, he leaped out of there, bounced off my face, and went hopping right back towards where we put all our shoes all over again. ^^
