This was special commission! Kardi Corgi paid me to do a 7 hour painting last month of her unicorn courier character. But later she decided that she wanted to add a background into the piece, so she paid for her to be placed in a city setting running away from an unknown assailant with a gun! This piece played off several of my weaknesses at once, which made it very difficult. I'm not the best at non-organic settings, and I'm also not very good at adding a setting AFTER I've drawn a character.

Lots going on here that was quite a challenge for me, so I recognize that it might not be a perfect city setting in a lot of ways. This was very good practice though, and despite it's flaws I'm pretty proud of the result! I ended up going overtime by quite a lot to get it as good looking as I could.

Holy... <3333333 I just got this in my inbox, so I had to pop on and go fave it. XD
WOW. You just knocked this out of the park, and I am utterly floored and delighted with this, I cannot say how awesome this is. I know this was NOT easy, I totally know how hard it was sticking a drawn character into an envronment, and I know organic shapes are far more forgiving, but man, you blew this one out of the water. This is exactly what I wanted. It's got that awesome comic bookish style (which is perfect for this character, absolutely perfect) and I love all the little details you did to really make it work out. The cat, the car, the details on the buildings, just wow. Haha, and the plaque rocks! So cool and so whimsical and fun!
(Just as an aside - anyone who doesn't know it already - commissioning this artist has always been an absolute joy. I've gotten a few pieces done, and always, there's been awesome communication, wonderful work. I so, so appreciate her willing to tackle it after the character had been drawn. Totally one of those artists that works hard, goes above and beyond, and being a business person myself... huge kudos. :) )

It looks absolutely wonderful Nym. The only thing that bothers me is the perspective of the car. My brain wants to say it's driving into the bank because if that's the street, it's one small bank. >_< Other than the possible bank heist, it looks great. You did really well in putting a background into the picture after the full picture was drawn.
Digital? Really? Wow you have some really awesome textural brushes for Photoshop (er I hope, that's the only program I've used). I would only have a little critique for the straightness of the neck line and the molded-ness of her top (ie to look more fabric-y, some folds and less 'pasted to the underboobs' look) - but that's it and I don't know what the top should be made of. The hair detail, lighting and action is amazing. well done!
