Have a cut-out Derpy, wondering what went wrong.
Censoring Derpy is the business of those who censored her, and I don't really feel that it's my place to try to argue with them. Hasbro is a big company and they have more people to answer to than a few rabid bronies on the internet. As someone with physically disabilities, it never even occurred to me to get offended by Derpy! But I guess I can kinda see how someone could.
What kinda makes me wonder though, is that if so many people were so offended by Derpy's speaking role/portrayal in MLP... then how did shows like Ed, Edd, and Eddie stay on the air for so long? o.O Mentally challenged cartoon people are okay, but when it comes to clumsy, cross-eyed, cartoon, ponies, OH SHIT YOU'RE OVER THE LINE NOW!!
I just find it kinda funny. XD

Somehow I missed that she got censored?
Personally, I hated it when she got the big part in that episode. Just cringe-worthy. She was much better as a background character, I think. If they were gonna give her a bigger role, I think making her a more interesting character would have been the way to go.

Snails (one of the antagonizing male foals) is another example of 'why Derpy and not him?"
To which the only conclusion I can come to is that it has something to do with Derpy being a female more than anything else. ;p but I digress. I'm just glad she's still around, if only in the background like before.

I think the biggest difference is the fan base. I don't think multiple Ed's show was aimed at little girls & being about education and friendship. Nor did it have a huge fan base who really gave two shits about it, where as MLP does. I've never seen the Ed thing, and I LOVE cartoons. I just passed it by as "welp, this looks like 20 minutes of fart jokes, PASS".
