Practice Stick Figure Animation Doodle
Lol, I was playing Minecraft today and got the usual guilty feeling that I should be getting somewhere in life, especially towards Indie Game Development. This took about and hour and a half in Illustrator to build frame by frame.
Note that I have NOT animated since... I dunno. At least 8 months though I think it is more like over a year ago.
I cannot tell you how much I hate animating. Probably the one skill I have good ability to do that I hate the most. I always said I would be more likely to hire and artist for my game development than to do it myself.
This particular piece may be used for Weathervein. So the actual finished sprite will be smaller than this. If you are gonna critique the movement, unless its very severe and my bad eye sight is in my ways, stuff it. I don't really care.
One a side note, at this point, Weathervein at this point, is intended to develop into a "2D Minecraft" like game. The same sandbox nature but a very different setting. But most significantly I am toying around in my head with the logic of an Isometric interface instead of first person of Minecraft or 2D platform of Terraria.
It looks pretty difficult, but hey, copy and pasting is bad. Hence why I purposely stay out of mod development for Minecraft. I wanna keep myself out of Notch's coding.

One of the primary limiting factors between me and game making is the art side of things; I seriously can barely draw, and the program I always used to use for what limited pixelarts I did crashes constantly on all my current computers (or simply doesn't open).
Well... That and a terrible lazy streak.

Ouch, that sounds nasty. c_c What program was that? I know that the one cay Open Canvas cannot open up to work in, I will probably pull my hair out and scream like a little girl. x.x'
I never could figure out how to do pixel art properly... but I never saw much reason to do so.
Laziness.... my anti-art. |3

It was some old sorta-translated Japanese freeware program called "iDraw3" (I think it came out before the whole i-everything craze, it just had a weird name for the time). The thing I liked about it was that it was built almost from the ground up to make it easy to work with graphics in blocks of user-specified size. For instance, 8x8 pixels, or 32x32 pixels, or 29x642 pixels. As far as I know, it might not even be on the internet anywhere anymore.
