Commission for
shadowfox014
A colored sketch commission! Yay! This character had quite pretty markings, a cross of gray and orange (and of course I'm more than partial to the color orange, heh). I wanted to work on more interesting poses, so I tried something a bit more difficult for this one... which I'm really glad I did! I like the messy coloring and lines on commissions like these, it makes me feel more free when working on more difficult poses. Anyway, enjoy everyone! :D

Not a bad piece!
The good:
Love the general flow and style of this. It seems really relaxed, like you had a really good time doing this piece. I love the coloring on his shirt. That gray and greenish go really good together. The shadowing is really neat as well. Looks great.
The not so good:
The orange looks way too oversaturated. I'm not sure if this is intentional, but it stands out to me to the point that it sort of overwhelms and detracts a bit from the other colors. Dulling it a little may mix everything in nicely. Also, I don't know what it is..the chair perspective seems off..and then the pose as a whole seems off. It's kinda hurtin' my brain. Definitely a difficult pose to pull off, I can understand that. It's not -bad-, I think it's just one that may need a bit of practice.
Really not a bad thing though. You know I love yer' work.
