Nice one. Does sleet really make wet slopping sounds? I've never seen it and I'm not sure I know what sleet it.

The story sounds so loney but also so peaceful and beautiful. I love the description "The warmth flowed up his hands and arms with a gentle grace." I do know how cold feels and how starting a fire feels on the body as cradles you and warms you gently. so that line really stuck a chord with me.

Sleet is pretty much a mixture of rain and snow. Not really one or the other, but a nasty sloppy sounding mixture. lol

I'm still not sure if I'll do any more with this, but I'm just as happy to have written it as you are to read it. :)
