Shots of the October Blizzard that hit New England in 2011 and knocked power out for up to 3 weeks in some places not all that far from me. I lost power for 1 week.

it is not supposed to, this was a freak storm that knocked down power lines, disrupted power min 2 days max almost a month in some places and ripped down half of our local trees leaving the woods still unsafe to walk in without looking up... there are still hundreds of "widow makers" that hang by an inch of living wood in some places
