I actually was suppose to spoof this back in mid 2011, but was held back by other works. And originaly, it wasn't suppose to be Derpy, but some black silhouette of a pony dressed in WW1 uniform. But since this whole "Altered Derpy" news, figured I best lend my support to the lil muffin-lover.

If I were to ever talk to Hasbro this is what I would say to them
~Dear Hasbro, thank you for allowing our community to expand as it is, however the way you judged the name of a cartoon character over a trivial thing really disappointed a lot of dedicated viewers, the fact that you are trying to be careful about what kids under the age of 12 watch is something I respect, but it is not something that you can simply decide on a whim which does not make me appreciate what you are doing right now, especially since this community was overall optimistic. Please keep in mind may control the franchise, you have no power over the majority of fans, and only you can decide whether you made a big mistake. And besides, what's to stop anyone including myself from calling derpy DERPY?
