This Momma Rabbit had had several litters of bunnies in my back yard over the years. She would sometime nurse them in a depression in the grass. They would dart into the tiger lilly patch when startled. Local cats, hawks, and the occasional fox take their toll, yet a few made it to adulthood. "Ma" actually stretched out and sneezed while I was 20 feet away during one Summer afternoon. That would normally get you pounced in the wild. I treated her offspring to an apple or two during the Winter months.
