I'm not sure how I feel about this one. I like the layout and the idea behind it, but I'm not sure I like how it turned out. I'd initially intended to do only the line art and hatching through traditional means and then color it digitally, but I'd ended up not thinking and started coloring, completely forgetting to scan it as a precaution.
After bringing it to the point it is now, I debated whether or not to actually even post it or not. After some deliberation I eventually decided to do so because it's at least something.
This also marks the return of my character, Laz, whom I'd considered getting rid of entirely for quite some time. In the end I'd decided to keep him as I felt he was too apt of representation of myself. And, as much as I detest the word, I'd likely even call him my fursona now; a notion I'd rejected in the past. There are a few changes I've made to his design, though none exceedingly major and none adequately displayed here. I'll probably draw up some better picture of him later to show those better.
I'm sure ll this text must be violently boring and I doubt any of you even care so I apologize.
Done traditionally on brown paper using ballpoint pen, some Tombow and prismacolor markers, some colored pencils, and white conte crayon.
After scanning, moderately heavy digital editing was done to correct color on the background and to fix his expression.
It doesn't look too bad in person, but he does look far more depressed than he does in this version.

Well, I, for one, am glad you didn't get rid of him.
I really, really like the concept of this. I'm not sure why. It's like the song you hear on the radio that you identify with, and when people ask you why you identify with it, you really can't put it into words? Yeah. Like that.
Also damn you worked that poor white conte into the GROUND. XD

I can sorta see why you feel that way. Planning on doing something and then completely forgetting what you originally planned to do is quite bothersome at times. I still think that it's still well drawn and colored either way. Accidents happen but you still manage to make it turn out quite well. :3
