Well. To be fair, the only reason I drink alone (when I drink at all which is rare) is because after a few, I lose ALL ability to tolerate ignorance, stupidity, and cruelty in other people and do not have a problem telling it to them. With head-butts as needed.
It kind of depends on the crowd. My friend Lunchbox heads a punk band, and when he plays at our local bars, the crowd is usually lacking in stupid drama. But I don't really LIKE being drunk in public or drinking in public since someone dropped a roofie in a drink a few years ago. I'd rather be sober and safe. If I want a beer or glass of wine with dinner, that's one thing, but if I want cocktails, I make them at home for trusted friends.
