For shorty-antics-27's favorite animal contest.

I chose rabbits because I have always loved them, ever since I was a little girl living out in the country. Rabbits are most active at dawn and dusk, so I put this little guy in a dawn scene.

Here is the Sentry Rabbit- the one who stands guard while the rest of the warren is feeding. Sentries stand up on their hind legs to be able to see, hear, or smell predators better. Should a predator be spotted, the sentry will stamp his hind leg on the ground, warning the others to hopefully give them enough time to get to safety. When the alarm is sounded, the rabbits will either run to the safety of their warren or other shelter or flatten themselves to the ground to avoid being seen.

The sentry is, in my experience, not a well-known role for a rabbit. Most people think of them simply as running breeding machines.
