Oh my gosh, this is ADORABLE! I love the dragons you did as well, but the gryphon is by far my favourite :) How did you make it? Are they easy to make?

I like the dragons, too, but I think I'll go with you on this one. Even though the gryphon isn't very colorful, it still has fun textures and details. Not to blow my own horn, mind you. Lol, well, not intentionally. Some of those nice details were a fluke of the frosting and/or the airbrush. That's one thing I like (or hate) about certain materials - they sometimes create themselves.
Anyway, to answer your question: I made it with two cupcakes, buttercream and food coloring airbrush. There is a lot of cutting, stacking and praying involved. I wouldn't call them easy to make really. I mean, I've made this style (lounging with head up) of cupcake quite a few times now so it's not really hard to do anymore, but the first time I was cursing a lot and almost gave up. But usually when I make something of my own, I sketch it out first to really get the idea I want and then go from there.

Well, not only that, but whenever I look up "dragon cake" or "dragon cupcake" on Google Images, I find TONS of dragon-themed cakes. Gryphon cake/cupcakes are so much more rare, it seems, so it makes it that much more special :)

Yeah, I've had experience of piecing a cake before...years ago, I tried making a dragon-shaped cake for my husband's birthday (cuz he loves dragons), done when it was the summer time and our A/C wasn't working. It...kinda melted XD

Yeah, icing can be quite annoying to work with at times. I can't even begin to count how many mangled-looking sweets I've managed to concoct. XD
