I have seen many doing this one at DA so heck why not? :3
I decided to redo one of th every very first drawings I did: this buffalo circa 2004/2005
http://fav.me/d8likt
which was named Max and it was my avatar at first. But then I decided to make a buffalo version of myself and ditched this one.
I thought I had that one here in FA...that's weird
Anyway here its how would have been if I have done it now, 7/8 years later. I have to admit that I did a bit rushed but here it is.

Uhhh....I think its a 50/50 thing here.
Your muscles from "before" are much more better then what you can do now. You faces and hands, have indeed improved. Your line work...has gotten worse it seems. That or its your tablet / art program your using for your linework.
Unlike some people that are jumping the bandwagon and going, "Oh yeah, you've definitely improved!", I am going to tell the honest truth from an artist's point. There are things you improved, but there are things that you've also seemed to have lost, while honing your skill. This is actually common in any artist. I too, have lost skills while improving others. You must practice, and always practice, on paper first before going into a final project. That's Basic Arts, and must always be remembered.
Doing art from scratch on paper, hones your prospective style before doing a Final Draft. Its like writing a report. You got your drafting first, then the correctings, then on to the Final Draft.
Keep working on your style if you seek to better your art. And always keep your confidence that you'll always learn something new about your developing style.
