The lion is a representation of Terra (earth). It is corporeal; it devours other animals and in doing so lives itself and allows the plants to live (the end of materia, the transformation of materia into other materia, and the perpetuation of materia). The lion breaths fire, a representation of both passion, and the mantle of fire (mane) represents thought. Water drips from it's mane, a representation of both nurturance. The tail is raised, representing self-determination, and is curved in the insignia of Aera (air) tipped with fire, representing spirituality.
The lion that embodies all elements is the Gold Lion, the congruent being or the "totality". It is drawn with a "human face" (the snout is drawn as if facing downward or "long" as a human's, and not protruding like an animal's). The crown with two wings represents enlightenment, the wings representing knowledge and wisdom, the crown representing the mind.
The background consists of many trails/paths, a representation of past experience. The foreground consists of a living relationship between the mountain the tree (the aether). The tree grows to accommodate experience, the mountain stands undeterred by it. Separate from experience is the aether (represented by the cloud), which is the lack of materia (absence). The tree lives from water, but can be nurtured or destroyed by fire. The mountain stands as manifest to fire and water, but antithetical to air.
Anointment is not the process of being given a title or having a role bestowed from an external source. Anointment is the recognition for a certain physical/mental stature. That recognition comes from action that is recognized as enlightened.
TL;DR : Alchemic 14th-16th century block-print style image of a really important someone to me.
