That's trust, all right. How did you convince a raccoon to let you pet his (her?) chin without biting off fingers? And that's a real prize photo of the occasion.

Well, thank you most kindly. This fellow's name is Merlin, and he's one of the tamest, most even-tempered 'coons in the world. He was a rescue critter back when he was a kit, and is not releasable into the wild, so he's spent his life being well taken care of at one of the local animal parks. He's bonded with his keepers and is one of the few raccoons who actively enjoys the contact he has with humans (he'll follow them around, waiting for a lap that he can crawl into.)

AW! That's so sweet! I'd love to meet Merlin one day. Thanks for sharing him.

It's funny how every animal is different, mine had a much flatter face, not as distinct a snout.

I don't trust 'coons ever since I found out they can carry a parasite that his fatal to humans. Coon under the house? call a hazmant cleanup crew. Serious!

Any wild critter can potentially carry something harmful to humans. Fortunately Merlin here is healthy and well looked after by his keepers. :3

I just have to crawl under houses for a living in a region where coons are always breaking and entering, so I have a survival instinct reaction :p

I doubt if I could crawl under a house if my life depended on it... my poor ol' knees would never allow it. :P
