This was my first attempt to emulate a sort of badge style, done while at work using only a pen. As I make mistakes very frequently, I'm surprised this came out so well. This character came to me in a very nightmarish vision of a dream as a servant of some dark power.
There is a fantastic color piece of this character floating around somewhere on FA. I wish I could remember where and by whom. I hope I can find it someday, as I will immediately post it when I do.

The stringy bits behind his cheekbones are indeed strands of loose hair. Also, those are indeed needles circling his shoulderblades that meet at the base of the neck and run down in twin columns on either side of his spine to where the anthro body meets the snake body, and they CAN extend at will for either a threatening pose or quick impalement of one seeking to slaughter from behind. Somehow I don't think you were planning to show that in the pose you may select, but I thought I'd just throw that out there as a fun fact. :)
