I have seen this a lot in other people's galleries: showing their own character ( their fursona ) with another artist's character/fursona, mostly in a sexual situation. I never spoke to anyone who has been drawn in this situation or who drew it as well, so I am somewhat confused. In many cases, it can just be a form of flattery; the artist thinks that the fan's character is sexy, so he/she draws his/her own fursona with that fan's character in a sexual situation, or maybe it is a request ( which might be more of the case ), or just for a ha-ha kicks. Some artists draw extremely well that just having that kind of drawing in one's sketch book is a form of artistic flattery, sexual amusement and humor.
In many fan images, I have seen Max Black Rabbit's character ZigZag in hundreds of images with other artist's/fan's characters in sexual/humorous situations. I never talked to MaxBR before, so I do not know the full history of his character ZigZag. Was she only created for sexual humor, or maybe something else? It is not just ZigZag, but many other characters from thousands of artists.
This might even go back to an earlier work I did about respecting your own creation/fursona. Your fursona is you, an animalistic version of you. You want that character to be treated with as much respect as yourself by other people and artists. The artist is the only one who has the power to portray their own character in any way they wish. If someone asks if one’s character can be in a situation with another, he/she should ask the artist first.
I have not had full out experience with this kind of thing, but many others have. My fursona or characters have not been drawn in any sexual situation before, so I am unsure on how to think about this. I would like to know what others think about this and what experience they went though. This is not a negative topic at all, far from it. Its an artistic experience, fan art, etc.

For some it can be the same as making a pass, a love declaration. And for others, just a silly friday night fun.
my chara is like me so I rarly draw her in sexuall situations only with my bf how it should be ^^
but well yeah the other site are giftarts where others draw there fursonas in sexuall situation with other artist fursonas which is like o.k if both agree but somehow if there is a mate he/she should get asked too :3

My fursonias or any character close to my fursonias (Their mates, etc) I never publicly draw them nude or in sexual situations (I keep it private art as if it were real life, really me, etc.). I would be rather upset if someone portrayed my character in a sexual situation (even tasteful/suggested nudity) with out my permission, and my permission would be 'no way' every time. o.O
Most of my characters have designated mates for when ever I draw them in some form of sexual situation. Only a few (2-3) have a free roam and are not bond to one character as a mate, although they might end up with a mate sometime or another, and be restricted in use also. XD

I've not really had many people draw any of my (growing number) of characters in sexual situations, probably because I don't really draw them in such myself so people may feel that they don't know if they should. Well, it's either that or nobody feels the need to really draw any of my characters much, heh.
BTW, ZigZag also guest-stars in a webcomic made by Eric Schwartz, as the head of a pornography studio (though none of the porn is actually shown):

I don't have a fursona but do have characters I draw for a comic. Personally I would be a little uneasy if that happened with one of my characters. The last thing I want is an email from someone asking me where the sex is in my comic because they saw this one picture by so-and-so and...

I don't posess a fursona, so I'll never know such an experience, but I have several long-term characters, that while some of them have "sexual histories" (none that have been drawn out yet), I've been stalling on actually depicting them in such situations, and the one character I did create soley as a vector to introduce porn to my character set, is still waiting for an externally-imposed set of circumstances to jumpstart her dalliances.
I suppose once I start drawing sexually explicit art of (some of) my characters, I wouldn't be in a very strong position to object to anyone else doing such fanart of them.
My guy friends don't do that with my female characters, though - most likely out of respect for my fiancee and I.
Mostly it's just for fun with my gal pals. If someone I didn't know very well - or just a random person drew my character with his/hers in a compromising situation, I'd be very upset. Mostly because I designed my fursona to look like a fennec version of me. I'm not a very deeply involved furry, I just draw it for fun and fantasy - but the fact that the character represents me online... well, the thought of someone drawing Foxy like that really creeps me out.
A character like Zig Zag... I wouldn't mind being drawn with her, mostly because she isn't a fursona, per se. She's a fantasy character, a very likable fantasy character. A pic with her would be fun.
And I think that's why people like to draw their characters with her - she's not directly attached to a human (well, maybe BR himself, but it's pretty well implied that Zig is a fun pornstar)
I just hope that if anyone ever feels the need to draw me or any other character of mine in that manner, that they are kind enough to repect my right to the character and consult me before posting it for public eyes. o.o;;
As for Zig-Zag, as others said, she was created to be a sexually open pron star from the start, and isn't Max Blackrabbit's fursona, just a character of his.

However i think that most of the cases sexual portraits have just a fun feeeling to them without really having other intents behind (or, rather, when they do have other intents behind i think that the autor made that clear, in a way or another..)
What really make me think is that, for what you said, seem like some persons don't bother asking before using someone's fursona and that seem to me rather strange.....or am i wrong? There may be cases which are, say, surpraises so you don't say nothing till the end but....
i mean, the only time i've done something like that, i made sure to ask first.
