As my fellow FArtistas are likely aware of, I created two Dead Rising/MLP crossover pieces, Dash West (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6425761/) and Fluttershy Greene (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7023946/)-one as a gift and the other as a request. Well, after looking over the pictures and seeing the Chuck Greene Psychopath battle in Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, my artistic curiosity got to work once again.
For this piece, I consulted my friend
bubbapanther who is a brony and the guy who got me into Dead Rising in the first place, about what artistic details I should incorporate into the piece. Concerning Psycho Flutter/Chuck's color scheme, he suggested I go with the version I commonly see referred to as "Flutterbitch" (which seemed fitting appearance-wise given Psycho Chuck's descent into madness). Wanting to try a new Combo Weapon, he suggested the Laser Sword which we both love using to combat the undead. Since Flutter doesn't have any siblings or children that I know of, Jake suggested I should go with a doll form of Dash's admirer Scootaloo playing the Katey doll (he noted it'd be ironic or something given how I had established Dash as the Frank West stand-in). In short, I give him some of the credit for his help and suggestions, which definitely helped in the 10+ hours it took to make this picture.
I imagine someone out there might apply the "Sonic in a car" problem to Flutter driving a Slicecycle. Considering how Flutter/Chuck is a Psycho in this version and an alcoholic with a penchant for Molotovs, I'm sure she'd be too caught up in killing zombies with fire and sawblades and trying to find Zombrex for a long-gone filly to probably even remember that she was capable of flight.
Honestly, I really hate the Psycho Chuck bossfight for its heavy Tearjerker qualities and turning one of my favorite characters into a deranged lunatic. While it was indeed a mindf*ck, as he vanishes after being defeated, it was still pretty sad to see a situation where I'd be forced to fight and almost-kill him in self-defense. As much as I don't like MLP, even I would feel horrible if I had to fight and almost-kill Flutter. Guess that's a twofer Tearjerker situation, ain't it?
The title is based off "People Like Us", the name of the OTR mission where you battle Psycho Chuck.
