I don't really know what to say about this one. It was a case study from a photography book I got for christmas. I rather like painting with lights like this but I'm not so keen on the playing cards as subject matter. I don't gamble and I'm rubbish at card games. I like the effect which was created by taping a blue led to the end of the stick and wafting it around the cards on a long exposure. I've just ordered a 5mw green laser pointer to try some similar ideas with. perhaps I can write on buildings and stuff with that

Thanks but it does seem to have gone all grainy when i uploaded it. I usually re-size my images to 1000px wide before uploading but forgot on this one i was going to see if i could remove it and re upload but i cant see a remove button. oh well i'll just link to the better version on flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/bshephard/6808008212/
If you open this up full size and look at the full size one in flickr and look at the area around the clubs on 7 of clubs. The one I've uploaded here looks very blurry and there is a lot of noise on the white area of the card surrounding the clubs. It seems to have shrunk it for me as this was 4000 odd pixels wide (its a 16 megapixel camera) but it's also compressed it right down and its lost a lot of definition. Facebook does the same thing when I upload there as well
