Oh, this one... for now I'll just go with a shorthand version of the story, and maybe thicken it up later, maybe when someone asks about it. The king here hears that he'll be killed by "the mother of his children" from a prophetess, and... the end result, or rather one of them, is this right here. I think I tend to come up with the most convoluted reasons for male pregnancy out of the whole furry fandom... and then I look at what others do. I just like to remind myself, at least I try to be original about it from time to time.

Let me guess: After hearing the prophecy, he has all the women exiled from the court, but then he realizes that the kingdom will still need an heir. So in order to make sure that the throne remains in his bloodline, he has his royal wizard(s) make him able to carry the child himself.
