Had to google that, cool critter! His eye's having a glowing quality was actually inspired by one of my favorite bands - bright eyes, hehe.

I agree! It's a nice change of pace for sure as he seems so one dimensional if he's just drawn happy all the time and certainly nothing like myself as I'm certainly not happy all the time, haha.
His eye glow is certainly more noticeable in darker surroundings and in that they reflect the intensity of his current emotions :>

I hope you don't mind me asking, but what program do you use to color? I'm still getting a feel of what I want my style to be and I was just curios. More or less to use as a comparison. Your style is really awesome.

I use mostly sai +  onta's brushes :>
Then photoshop for finishing touches like color balance.

Hah, I tried illustrator not too long ago for making a watermark.. it kicked my butt ;p
Sai is GREAT. I had some trouble getting into because I was so used to photoshop, but now that I'm comfortable it's a lot simpler and light weight in comparison.
Many features are just more intuitive like blending, rotating the canvas, color dropping, and the pen stabilizer is so good it's almost like cheating LOL.
But yeah, I'd say definitely try it out!
