in I 'think' 1993 the CNW resurfaced the former Minnesota Western trackage along its entire 7 miles, though it still remained a 15 slow order for that whole distance.
The CNW operated this line with ONE train on the weekdays as needed. It was not unusual to see a train on this line 5 days a week, but the more common traffic was 3 times a week.
Here we see the new crossing surface, a nice rubber one that was remarkably smooth to drive over.
The roadway is Mendelssohn Ave N.
Take note the well maintained and fully operating Griswold 'Turning STOP sign' signals.
Sadly under the UP these signals have been replaced.

remarkably smooth to drive across eh.. hehe wish i could have nice smooth one like that here hehe. there one near me you almost rip you oil pan off if you take a little to quick.. lol
