A gift for
styles373. I wanted to do something for him after he made my cool avatar. I toned down the white fur to show the contrast to his eyes and nose. And I drew the hands more antropomorph. I know they also have grey parts, but I didn't know how to make it appear good, so I left it out. I conceived the colour of his trousers as I found no reference picture . The background has been left transparent, don't know how this will look on different systems? I hope he likes it.

You're welcome, my friend! I think I might try shadowing, plus adding lights to your eyes, and background would be nice. And maybe a smaller sized version for better viewing ^^. I just thought I upload it HQ. Since it's a scalable vector graphics (at least the outlines, and yes, I copied that from you :) ), I can deliver whatever scale you want.
its not really the same thing as sai vector layer then svg.
the really vector art, its on vector program.
since you said svg then I assume your using inkscape I'm I right?
I did dabble with inkscape before and it is my main vector program and it work great.
but it depends if you familiar with tools and the environment of the program.
So many things i want to try on vector but I had time to learn the art.

That's right, Inkscape with pencil line tool. First I did a rough drawing in MyPaint, then I put another layer on it in Inkscape and drew lines. I often had to correct the vertices because it did not look like I wanted. I know Inkscape a bit because I used it already for speech bubbles ^^. The filling was done in Gimp, because the fill tool in Inkscape did not work to my satisfaction. I'm missing some functions in Inkscape, f.ex. melting lines together easily without artifacts, post-smoothing lines or preventing that lines cross. Maybe these exist, and I only didn't find them. All in all it was not so hard, you might really try it.
I know inkscape like the back of my paws, its only been a while since i used it. I got have to do my research about vector art,
just imagine yourself as artist, you got to know about your subject right. like vector art.
whats makes it so popular?
what kind of artwork does it do best?
what style art do they used?
with so many question I got myself excited.
shame I'm not art student *sigh* but it doesn't matter anymore.
As long I think I'm artist, I am one.
About the melting lines bit, you must be talking about paths right?
there a path option on menu bar, there will be a list of functions on the list, maybe you find the one your looking for.
