I'm not an artist but I am a thinker. I've always seen "The Thinker" as an academic symbol of philosophical contemplation, deep intellectual thought, and enlightened reasoning, all of which are emotionless mental processes.
Although I can see how one might view your work as having less emotion because of the blank, almost vacant expression of the subject, I understand that look all too well as being self protective after emotional trauma or as a means of escaping an unpleasant mental state. It's sort of like a depression, but not quite. For example, one might have this look after finding out one's house, and all it memories held within, had just burned down. It takes a while for all the emotions to register sometimes. It's a sort of calm before the emotional storm, and I think your picture represents this kind of mental state very well.
