So recently I’ve gotten on a kick where I wanted to come up with some new characters based off of various Pokémon. Sure it sounds easy, since almost everyone’s done it at least once. But when I started I realized something: my fondness for all shapes and sizes of bodies from all genders ends up leading to several characters… for EVERY species. … I don’t think my drawing hand will ever keep up with the ideas that come into my head in that regard; I’d have to create a whole new universe for all these characters to exist maybe. … Sounds like an interesting idea but, holy crap, that just adds another story to my repertoire of stuff. T..T

Here’s the first of three characters I’ve managed to sketch out so far, Tess the Charmeleon. Dude’s a shrimp standing at about 5’4”, resulting in him having somewhat of a Napoleon complex, his short temper leading him to challenge larger folks into fighting with him. Not to say he can’t hold his own; his small compact structure allows him to be pretty nimble on his feet, and his thicker forearms allow his punches to carry more weight to them. He secretly has the hots for another charmeleon – a buxom female who’s yet to be named or drawn – and seeks to impress her, yet is always too proud (or shy) to admit it, even to her.
