This phenomenon wouldn't be so bad if americans actually KNEW what they were doing with these sorts of styles.
But they don't. FIrst off, all the characters look the same, almost. Second, the artwork is quite subpar compared to their normal artists.
And third, they don't have a god damn clue about how to make a true "manga" properly. These stupid comics have NO expressive backgrounds, nor do they make use of speedlines or even character closeups.
These "mock anime" artists simply put, have no STORYTELLING ability.

Those guys have a LOT more skill in the actual manga style, not to mention full color illustrations by PROFESSIONALS.
