                    Watercolor was so hard for me at first, and I honestly don't know how I suddenly became good at it. One of the best things I did was switch from tubes to pans (I filled my own pans from the tubes I had). That made working with the paint a lot easier! I also bought some decent brushes (I use Princeton Neptunes mostly).  
This particular picture also has some watercolor pencil in it, I think, which I forgot to mention in the description!

                    Yeah. With watercolor you can actually re-use dried paint that's on your palette- but putting it into pans is easier because then you don't squeeze out too much in the first place, you just use what you need! 
The main benefit to to using tubes is that you can mix large quantities of a color if you need to. Since I work small that's not really an issue for me, though.
