Weeks build on, and soon he goes into hiding. The scales have covered his body, changing flesh to armor, black on his body, and white on his neck and chest. His face was building forward into a snout, each day his nose seemed to occupy more of his face, while his ears were fanning out into finned structures. His senses were sharpening, as he changed, not to mention his strength.

He could now lift a tree with ease, and with every passing day as those scales spread and his feet arced up like a monster from a medieval bestiary. His hair has started to change, whitening and growing down his neck. Red markings appear on his chest and arms, much like the ones from the scroll. The small nubs on his head had burst days ago, forming horns, he knew he was becoming a dragon. A strange mix of joy and fear bumbled up inside him, unsure of where his form was going to go next.

Today though, the pain from the changes was in his rear, and after hours of discomfort, it exploded into a fully formed tail, correcting his balance problems. The tail ran with spikes, ending in a wicked axe-like blade.
