Alan Moore's "Watchmen" was an important influence for the visual style. His artist used color in a way I'm not, but he used a minimal sort of shading that I thought looked nice and would accelerate the drawing process.
More importantly, I was impressed with how much he managed to fit onto one page with his nine-panel layout, so I directly borrowed that which helped cut down on page length.

His name was Dave Gibbons, and he's done incredible art since then.
Dear god, I memorized the book before I saw the film...even now if I was given an issue, page, and panel number, probably recite it from memory. One of the greatest literary acheivements of our or all times.
I'm very impressed by your page compositions... you've been improving TREMENDOUSLY ever since Concession ended. And your art style is getting better and better! Simple is always nice.
Concession also gave me the courage to come out of the closet. I will probably forever owe you one.
