Probly the main reason i drew this was because i had just bought a Smooth Bristol board drawing pad. The first one ive gotten. Ive been told that its smooth texture really helps with the markers, and since its thick i had no problem with the markers bleeding through.
Anyways, i just loved how the markers worked on this board. It made coloring with markers a lot more fun, especialy witht he clouds and the rocks, and made shading the body really easy. I then highlighted the body with colored pencils. I think i went a bit overboard though, especially on the wings. But oh well, i still had fun working on this one. Usually pics feel tedious, hehe but this was indeed enjoyable.
Anyways, as for the theme of the picture. Lately ive fallen in love with feathers and feathery wings. The femy pic was my first succesfull attempt at them. ^^ So i wanted to see howd theyd look on my char. Just further defining myself i guess. Dunno how theyll work out, i still dont know how i should do the colors of them. But oh well. Anyways, i just wanted a nice picture of my char out in the open for this one.

Hehe i hate rewriting basicaly the same infor over and over again. But to add a bit more to the comment, i kinda messed up the shading of the wing, because you cant tell what its position is. Its supposed to be somewhat closed but in an overlaping fashion. So the back of the wing should be in more shadow... but oh well. I went overboard with the highlights with the colored pencils so sue me.
My fav thing about this picture, other than how much fun i had playing with the markers on my own char, where the rocks and clouds. A nice little accident with the ink i used running when a grey marker is pressed against it. I just love how it made the clouds look.
Oh and lastly, i left that whitish outline and backgound... mostly because you wouldnt beleive how much of a pain and semi waste of ink it is to try and make that perfect. So i leave it imperfect on purpose.

Yah, its basicaly really thick, really smooth paper. The bad thing about these pads is its limited in paper. My pad only has 20 sheets, compared to the exact same sized pads that have 100+ sheets. But, those pads are so thin the markers tend to bleed through, and unless i take precausions, using markers tends to waste a couple sheets of paper in the process. Umm anyways, yah i really like my bristol board. ^^ And i got a pad so big i can draw two pictures on the same sheet.
